Dr. Cohen is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology. He has been practicing reproductive endocrinology for over 30 years. His experience with assisted reproductive techniques goes back 20 years from the earliest inception of IVF in North America. In 1992, Dr. Cohen founded National Fertility Center to provide comprehensive and compassionate, care to couples facing infertility issues.
Renowned for his pioneering work in the field of gynecologic microsurgery, Dr. Cohen is an international expert in the field of infertility. He completed his work in gynecological transplantation and microsurgical techniques in the same laboratory with the late Dr. Christian Barnard's transplantation team. Dr. Cohen has worked with many international experts including Professors Philip Rhodes, Ronald Taylor and Maurice Katz of London, England, Dr. James R. Givens of Memphis, Tennessee, and Dr. Brian Little, formerly of Cleveland, Ohio. He has published extensively in the form of books, book chapters and professional journals and has received many awards for his works. Dr. Cohen has been named twice in America's Guide to Top Doctors and in D Magazine's list of Dallas' Best Doctors since 2002. He is past president of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and a charter member of the Society of Reproductive Surgeons. Other memberships include the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists, the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, the American Society for Andrology, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and the International College of Surgeons.
